Medik8 Product Review

About Medik8

Medik8 is a brand on a mission to help people maintain a healthy and beautiful skin through their CSA philosophy. Medik8 use both advanced science and elegance to create products which give real results through their well refined formula's incased in luxury packaging, delicate fragrances and superb customer service. They have really mastered the art of both pleasing customers skin and shopping experience.

As well as producing fantastic products Medik8 are also ECO minded and have saved 3 tonnes of plastic by replacing the majority of their packaging with glass and FSC certified paper-based packaging.

Medik8 believe in a very simple route of what they call, CSA. Vitamin C and sunscreen by day and Vitamin A by night. Which will help to renew, refine and protect the skin. Correcting skin damage and protecting it against further sun damage whilst leaving you with a fresher and more flawless complexion. Something which I've also been taught in Teresa Tarmey clinic during my microneedling sessions, and has improved my complexion enormously, as well as protecting against the serious effects of sun damage.

What I love about Medki8, is that they know what they are good at, have mastered that, and have stuck to it. Rather than releasing other random products just for the sake of it.

C-Tetra

What is it?

  • This is a super light daily Vitamin C serum.
  • This serum has been designed to restore radiance to the skin, correct pigmentation issues and fight the visible signs of aging.
  • This lightweight formula has been designed to help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to help correct fine lines, whilst brightening the complexion and balancing out skin tone.
  • I know that keeping Vitamin C fresh and stable is always a major issue for both customers and manufacturers, therefore Medik8 has created a water free formula which is 100% stable and does not degrade over time, keeping it as potent as the day you opened it.

Is it LUSH?!?!

Yes!! I have absolutely loved using this vitamin C. I have stuck to both Medik8 and Teresa Tarmey's advice by using a vitamin C and SPF in the morning and retinol (Vitamin A) at night. I have really noticed that my complexion has corrected so much since using this serum, my redness from previous acne clears up much faster and my skin looks a lot brighter and complexion clearer. This also has the most gorgeous delicate citrus fragrance which I love and sinks into my skin super fast. Making this perfect to be used in the morning, as then I can apply my SPF and makeup quickly without leaving it ages to sink in. It also is very hydrating too so I have never needed to use a second serum or moisturiser after, this is enough. I would recommend this is to anyone, if you are experienced with Vitamin C or not, it doesn't sting, has a good price point and works, just fab.

Retinol 3TR

What is it?
  • This is a light weight Vitamin A 0.3% serum.
  • This night time serum has been formulated to help resurface the skin while you sleep.
  • Vitamin A has been widely used both in the beauty and pharmaceutical world to help resolve acne issues by reducing sebum production, which when over produced can cause congestion and breakouts. Vitamin A also helps to improve skin texture, balances out skin tones and  minimises pores as it speeds up the cell turn over, leaving you with fresher more radiant skin.

When can it be used?
  • At night time, if you are new to any retinol/vitamin A products, try to introduce this into your skincare routine gradually, starting off with maybe, 2-3 times a week and then build up to nightly over a few weeks as tolerated. This is a mild / gentle vitamin A and so is a good retinol to start on if you have never used a vitamin A before.

Is it LUSH?!?
  • Yes!! I was really surprised with this retinol. I have used strong retinol from the Ordinary before which left me with very red/dry/ irritated skin so I could only use their serum once a week. I was under the false illusion that stronger is better etc, oh how I was wrong. This is why I have loved using this retinol so much. Little and often is really the key, and of course minimal down time, no one wants flaky patches of skin! This retinol didn't cause me any dryness, redness, irritation or flakey skin. Its a very mild retinol at 0.3% which normally I would think would be ineffective, but being so mild and gentle has allowed me to is this every night, which is far more effective than slamming my skin with a super strong, harsh vitamin A every other week.
  •  By using this so often I have really seen the benefits, my acne is nearly gone, I get far less congestion than what I used too, my skin is also more radiant and fresher. I have had so many compliments lately and I really thank that to this retinol and the Vitamin C above, such a powerful, effective combination which anyone, no matter what your skin type should incorporate into your routine. I can't rave about it enough.

Is it LUSH?!?

So.. I didn't really love this product, is ok, but not WOW. It feels lovely and hydrating but I bought it to help with my dark circles under my eye and I didn't see any difference if I am honest. The primer aspect of this product I also didn't find that good either, I had a nice tint to it, but the coverage wasn't that effective once applied. I think the idea of having a two in one product is good but neither aspect really delivered results for me. As a hydrating cream it was good, but that's about it. I think my mission for a good eye serum continues!

Is it LUSH?!?

  • Yes, this is an absolutely lovely SPF, so much so that it doesn't even feel like an SPF, more like a very nourishing moisturiser. My skin has loved this and the SPF cover is fab, I have not once burnt when using this, even during our very hot heat wave this summer, I also love that it doesn't smell like sun cream or leave you with any white marks or white out when you have a picture taken. Just lush.

Overall, I absolutely love Medik8 and I can't wait to try more from their range, go check out Medik8 in https://www.medik8.com
