What the brand is about

Bodhi and Birch are a British brand who set out to establish a niche, organic, luxury-eco minded skincare brand to awaken and enlighten our senses through bath, body and skincare.

Created in the kitchen of the founder, Elijah Choo, inspiration was drawn from nature and healing botanical remedies from Eastern and Western cultures interwined.

Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

What is it?

• This is a super soft gentle cleansing balm (my favourite types of cleansers!!) made with the super-rich superfood Avocado and Baobab, along with Plum Kernel, Green Coffee and Spirulina.
• This is a gorgeous nourishing cleansing balm designed to cleanse, nourish and brighten the skin whilst its plant sterols, phytonutrients and vitamins soothe and strengthen the skins natural barriers and protects against free radials and washes away pollution. 

What it contains

• Organic Avocado Oil - High in Oleic Acid (Omega 9) which enhances skin permeability, Vitamins A, E and D plus plant sterols, Avocado Oil has an extraordinary transepidermal penetration capacity to nourish and moisturise the different skin layers to maintain its barrier function. High levels of antioxidants help soothe skin inflammations thereby maintain its health and softness. Also uniquely rich in chlorophyll for brighter looking skin.
• Organic Baobab Oil - 
  Cold-pressed from the seeds, Baobab oil is rich in nutrients containing all three Omega 3, 6 and 9, as well as rare essential fatty acids and Vitamins A, D, E and K. A superb skin cleanser and softener, Baobab oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties to combat sun damage and repair signs of skin ageing. 
• Organic Hemp Seed Oil - 
  Considered a perfectly balanced oil, Hemp contains a profile of Omega 6 to Omega 3 essential fatty acids that matches our skin’s lipids. Along with gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), oleic acid and stearidonic acid, it is also a great source for Vitamin A and E, and a number of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc for healthy skin. 
• Organic Plum Kernel Oil - An incredibly nourishing and aromatic oil rich in oleic acid (60-80%), linoleic acid (15-25%), alpha tocopherols (vitamin E), vitamin B, pro-vitamin B5 (beta-carotene) and beta sito-sterols. Other than its superb ability to moisturise, nourish, protect and support skin health, Plum Kernel Oil also possesses a delicious almond marzipan scent.
• Green Coffee Oil - Cold pressed from raw coffee beans, Green Coffee Oil contains high concentrations of chlorogenic acid, known to tighten and tone skin temporarily, for smooth, youthful looking skin. Its composition of essential fatty acids, phytosterols and vitamin E makes it a potent antioxidant, helping to scavenge free radicals and offer protection against skin damage and DNA degradation.
• Organic Baobab Powder - This super fruit powder contains high levels of Vitamin C to boost with skin elasticity., plus calcium, magnesium, potassium and B-complex vitamins to firm and help maintain the integrity of skin cell membrane. When can it be used?

• This can be used both morning and night as your cleanser and also, Bodhi and Birch also recommend using it with their Renshen Root Exfoliant and mask as a gentle exfoliator. 

Is it LUSH?!?

• Yes! I absolutely love this cleanser, its super soft, super nourishing and leaves my skin soft and hydrated rather than dry and tight and removes all traces of makeup and daily grime. The fragrance is gentle but distinctive and I have grown to really like it! I take this off with a muslin cloth too as otherwise to make sure the balm is fully washed off as the oil content is very nourishing and I can feel reminents on my skin if I do not. Overall, I absolutely love this and I would recommend if anyone has fragile, sensitive or delicate skin as its a beautiful cleanser which will not irritate your skin, but leave it feeling hydrated and calm. Plus Avocado is just a win win for me...genius.

Renshen Root Exfoliant and Mask

What is it?

• This is a course to fine textured powder which can be mixed with water, Bodhi cleansers or Lemon Hydrosol Tonic to create either an exfoliating paste or face mask, or both!
• This mask contain a gorgeous powerful line up of some fantastic ingredients to help purify, decongest and boost collagen and cellular regeneration/turn over of the skin, giving you the experience of a spa facial and leaving you skin feeling fresh, brighter and congestion free. 

What it contains

• Organic Korean Ginseng - The most highly regarded herb in the Orient, Ginseng is shown in medical studies to be highly effective in fighting wrinkles due to its ability to boost skin-firming collagen. It possesses valuable phytonutrients and antioxidants that is scientifically shown to encourage skin healing and boost cellular regeneration, and give skin a brighter and more youthful appearance. 
• Organic Astragalus - A highly prized Oriental herb for its detoxing and tonification capabilities. Astragalus has been proven to increase skin’s hyaluronic acid production so that it remains youthful for longer. When can it be used?

• Whenever you fancy a lovely pamper session, its quite course so I would/do use this no more than once a week.

Is It LUSH?!?

• Yes! I absolutely love this mask. It has a gorgeous gentle earthy, herbal, chocolatey aroma. I love that this comes in a powder form and can be made a thick or thin as you like, and can be mixed with water or their cleansing balms to create a texture as soft or course as you like to suit your skin type. It really is fantastic. I love a good gritty scrub as you know so I mix this with a water, leave on as a mask until it a fully dried into a mud like mask. Then I scrub it off with a flannel (this will colour your flannels due to its natural ingredients btw!) so I get the benefits of both the mask and exfoliation. My skin felt super smooth, not dried out and skin less congested, especially my black heads, and brighter after using this mask. I love it and I save it for my special pamper nights.

Lemon Water Hydrosol Tonic

What is it?

• This is an uplifting Lemon, Neroli and Bergamont spritz which also contains hyaluronic acid, pea peptide and fruit enzymes to optimise the skins moisture levels.
• This can be used as a toner (which is what I use it for) or a daily mist/spritz when you need a refreshing, hydrating boost to your skin.

What it contains

• Lemon plus Organic Neroli & Bergamot Hydrosols - An refreshingly aromatic blend of pure distilled hydrosols from ripe lemons, orange blossoms and bergamot. Combined, the hydrosols are cleansing, clarifying, toning, fortifying and calming, suitable for delicate and sensitive skin. Possessing antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal compounds. Very calming, a first choice to soothe daily stresses in both children and adults. It can be used against stress, for uplifting the mood, refreshing, cooling and energy recovery.
• Organic Pomegranate Extract - Pomegranate is high in polyphenols including vitamins, anti-oxidants and ellagic acid, which help to regulate cell turnover. It is a clinically proven anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, powerful scavenger of free radicals, protecting cells from damage and an anti-aging ingredient, strengthening the cell membrane and making skin less susceptible to free radical damage and moisture loss.
• Organic Cucumber Extract - Cucumber extract is a natural emollient and softener with cooling and tonic properties. • I also use this throughout the day as a facial mist/spritz

Is it LUSH?!?

I have really liked using this, it's very refreshing and hydrating. Its a lovely little hydration booster if your skin is feeling dry throughout the day and I used it as hydration toner after cleansing as a little bit of a luxury. I do wish that the spray was finer though as the droplets are quite large. This is lovely if you are travelling to awaken and refresh our skin.
